President's welcome message
Gerringong Surf & Lifesaving Club is a community based, family friendly organisation that provides a voluntary service to the beachgoers of Werri Beach.
Our main aim is to provide a safe environment for the beach users by setting up a patrolled area at weekends and public holidays. We encourage people who enter the water to do so between the red and yellow flags.
We have a very strong junior component to our club and our Nippers can be seen on the beach most Sundays during summer. It is here we get a rare opportunity to teach our youngsters about Surf Survival and beach sense.
We also have a very proud tradition in surfboat rowing and have fifty of our members who keep their fitness levels up by competing regularly at carnivals during the summer.
Our club could not survive without our volunteers and to them we are indebted, as they regularly give up their time to patrol the beach and administer the club. Our sponsors and supporters also play an integral part keeping the club running. Their individual support will be acknowledged elsewhere on the website.
If you feel like you want to get involved, or could help in some way please contact me or one of our committee members.

Gerringong Gropers
Gerringong Gropers is the Winter swimming group the closest one to the Antarctic which operates between May to October. Meets at the club house every Sunday at 11am for a short walk to the Werri rock-pool for warm up laps followed by a brisk swim from the point to the beach - everyone welcome.
Youth members speak
We are two teenagers who joined the Gerringong Surf & LifeSaving Club when we were 13 and managed to get our Surf Surival Certificates then started patrols. We then got our Bronze Medallion which allowed us to do surf boat rowing.
What we do on patrol is make the beach a safe place to swim as well as encourage the nippers that we are currently helping with learn the dangers of the beach as well as have fun.
We also teach them how to identify rips and how to perform rescues. However, Sarah is currently the Junior Club Captain and we encourage the young people of the community to come and have a chat to us to find out how the club runs and what other things we do.
