Competitions Boat Competitors Calendar 2011-2012: Click here for Boat Competitors Calendar Overview: Despite being a small south coast club in terms of numbers, Gerringong has long built up a reputation as one of the most competitive and spirited clubs on the coast. Although not having the resources and numbers of other larger clubs, Gerringong continues to be well represented in the major carnivals. In the last decade alone, two Gerringong surfboat crews have made Australian finals while a number of crews have also medalled at state, country and branch championships. Fielding crews in all divisions from Under 19’s women’s right through to the veteran men Gerringong consistently fields one of the largest teams throughout the major carnivals. A huge feat when one considers the drawing areas of other clubs. While surfboats have been the main competition focus over the past 10 years, Gerringong quite often fields competitors in all disciplines of Surf Life Saving. Gerringong is quite often represented in all the water disciplines with Jerry O’ Sullivan in particular carving out a tremendous reputation as one of the most dominant under age iron man on the coast. In the winter months Gerringong has also fielded numerous IRB teams while the Gerringong Gropers also compete in the annual winter swimming championships.
